Make a small animation loop every day
I want to just make myself sit down and do a few frames. Doesn’t have to be fancy. Just getting into the habit of making things move!

Install and start fiddling around with my DAW stuff I've obtained from humble bundle.
Record and post a time-lapse of a drawing each day.
I spent a chunk of Friday recording a video of me cleaning out and changing the ink in a fountain pen and here are some of the Doodles from testing to see if I'd gotten all the ink out of the pen lol. Bonus picture of an apron my mom gave me for the purposes of messier art shenanigans.
Today’s coffee shop is Variety Roasters, which is a block away from my apartment. It’s quick and affordable, and has a cool sign tacked onto the side of the building. I did this one while watching an episode of Three Body Problem so it’s a little sloppy, but hey! I did it!!!
im surprised how quickly i can throw these videos together now lol. will post the youtube video of my 06-04-2024 doodle video editing stream in the comments of said post.
I also streamed myself doing the assembly of this video and a youtube version. Will try and get that and uploaded to youtube.
I scanned in the sketch and colored it. This was a big learning day—I’m not thrilled with the final result but I decided it was better to wrap it up and take the learnings into the next illustration. Specifically, I don’t this the color composition is very balanced and there isn’t a clear enough thesis / focal point. Green is notoriously difficult to work with, so that doesn’t help either. The next one I may take a step back and start with greyscale…then take it into color so I know the value structure is solid.
The first illustration is of SEY coffee! Light, airy, and full of plants—this coffee shop has some of finest beans I’ve ever had. I sketched a small thumbnail and did the rough pencil line work.
I’m gonna familiarize myself with this camera’s features so I’m not mashing buttons wildly so much!
A solid pair of knitting socks I can wear like everyday socks.
Today, I worked on wiring things up outside of the demo environment and in the actual app.
I did make some progress! The tab bar is technically... functional, although a lot of things aren't working. We do have automatic bar mode switching working, which was the milestone for this checkin.
There are some weird bugs I'm running into, like tabs not highlighting properly when they're selected, or the back button working when I long press but not when I tap normally???
I'm very confused, but I'll work them out!
It's been a very long few days: Lots of real work (much of which is still not done) and a surprise API bug that I was scrambling to fix. The good news is notifications work as a result, but I'm super duper tired.
I sketched out some comic ideas
